OUR HISTORY

Eastern was established and founded by Mr Goh Hong Choon in 1961, and in its early days, business activities revolved around second hand car dealership and loans for the purchase of vehicles. In 1983, Mr Willie Goh, second son to Mr Goh Hong Choon left Port of Singapore Authority (PSA) where he was a reefer technician for six years, and rendered his reefer machinery services to Container Depots under the same company name.

Initially rendering his reefer machinery services to only two Depots, after enduring over twenty years of hardships, the services rendered by Eastern was gradually growing in recognition among majority of the Shipping Lines and Container Leasing Companies. Increasing number of Depots have engaged Eastern for reefer machinery services, which we are grateful for, allowing Eastern to become the biggest reefer machinery servicing company in Singapore. Our services has since been extended to anchorage, consignee and shipper premises in Singapore. More than 50% of our customers have already been with us for over a decade.

Attributing to the long-terms of trust and good working relationships, customers have requested us to extend our services to ship-kit management for their vessels, which we with our group of committed and experienced team obliged, and have rapidly grown in this area, making it one of our core businesses too.

Many shipping lines have wanted us to extend our services overseas, and on a few occasions even introduced potential working partners to us. We have since expanded our businesses abroad to several countries and are aiming to provide a dedicated one stop service to customers in these regions.
